Kyle MacDonald for Mayor, Dawson Creek 2026
Proven Leadership. Clear Direction.
Dawson Creek is a strong community with enormous potential—but realizing that potential will take practical leadership, responsible decisions and a clear plan for the future
Leadership That Gets Dawson Creek Heard
Serving on City Council and representing northern communities through the NCLGA has given me the opportunity to build relationships with municipal, provincial, Indigenous, industry and community leaders.
As Mayor, I will use those relationships to make sure Dawson Creek has a strong voice when decisions are being made about infrastructure, water, public safety, transportation and economic development.
I’m running for Mayor because I believe we can address today’s challenges while building a stronger, safer and more prosperous Dawson Creek for generations to come.
A Practical Plan for Dawson Creek
Our community is facing important decisions. We need to protect our water supply, strengthen our economy, address public safety concerns and invest responsibly in the services and infrastructure residents depend on.
My platform focuses on four priorities:
WATER SECURITY
A secure and reliable water supply is essential to the future of Dawson Creek. Water security affects our residents, businesses, industries, emergency services and ability to grow. We need long-term planning, responsible investment and strong advocacy to make sure Dawson Creek has the water infrastructure and supply it needs.
ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT
A strong local economy supports good jobs, healthy businesses and the services residents rely on. Dawson Creek is strategically located and surrounded by significant strength in agriculture, energy, forestry, transportation and education. We must build on those advantages while creating opportunities for new businesses, investment and value-added development.
PUBLIC SAFETY
Residents deserve to feel safe in their homes, neighbourhoods, workplaces and public spaces. Public safety is a complex issue that requires cooperation between the City, RCMP, provincial agencies, community organizations, businesses and residents. Dawson Creek needs a coordinated approach that addresses immediate concerns while also supporting prevention and long-term solutions.
A STRONG HOMETOWN
Dawson Creek is more than roads, buildings and budgets. It is the people, organizations, neighbourhoods and shared experiences that make this community home.
Strong communities invest responsibly in infrastructure and services while creating welcoming places for families, seniors, young people and newcomers.
Dawson Creek deserves leadership that listens, brings people together and stays focused on solutions.
As your Mayor, I will work collaboratively with Council, residents, businesses, neighbouring communities, Indigenous leaders and other levels of government to move our community forward.
This campaign is about practical leadership, responsible growth and making sure Dawson Creek remains a place where people are proud to live, work, raise a family and build a future.
Experienced Leadership.
Deep Community Roots.
I am currently serving my first term as a Dawson Creek City Councillor and was elected President of the North Central Local Government Association for 2026–2027. Through these roles, I have gained valuable experience representing Dawson Creek, working with other communities and advocating for northern priorities with senior levels of government.
My wife, Gillian, and I are raising our three daughters in Dawson Creek. Like many families, we are actively involved in the community and understand how decisions made at City Hall affect residents in our everyday lives.
I also bring years of involvement in community safety and crime prevention organizations. I believe effective leadership begins with listening, building strong relationships and doing the work required to turn good ideas into practical results.
